Frequently Asked Questions
How does a boiling water unit work?
Boiling water units connect to your mains water supply and keep a reservoir of water at boiling temperature (or 65°C for our LA Series). When you press the tap, you get instant boiling water — no waiting for a kettle.
What’s the difference between Kwikboil and Supatap?
Kwikboil units are wall-mounted boiling water dispensers — they mount on the wall and you fill your cup directly from the unit. Great for offices, site offices, kitchens, and commercial spaces.
Supatap systems are underbench units — the system sits under your sink and connects to a premium tap on your benchtop. These offer boiling, chilled, and ambient filtered water through one sleek tap. They’re the direct competitor to Zip HydroTap and Billi systems.
How much power does it use?
All our units run on a standard 2.4KW single GPO (regular power point) — no special wiring needed. The Supatap range includes motion sensor technology that reduces power consumption when nobody is nearby.
Do I need a plumber to install?
Kwikboil wall-mounted units just need a power point and a water connection — a handy person can install them, though we recommend a licensed plumber for peace of mind. Supatap underbench systems should be installed by a licensed plumber as they connect under your sink.
How often do filters need replacing?
For filtered units (SA Series F models and all Supatap units), filters should be replaced every 6-12 months depending on usage and water quality.
What warranty do I get?
All Supakwik products come with comprehensive warranty coverage. Warranty terms vary by product range — check individual product pages for specific details or contact us for more information.
Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes! We ship to all states and territories across Australia.
How does Supakwik compare to Zip and Billi?
All three are Australian-made quality products. The main difference is price — Supakwik offers comparable quality and features at a significantly lower price point. Plus, our support comes directly from the manufacturer. See our full comparison.
