Why Choose Supakwik
Let’s be honest ā Zip and Billi make good products. So do we. The difference is in how we build, who answers the phone when something goes wrong, and what you pay for the boiling water tap that does the same job. Here’s the honest comparison.
Honest Price Comparison
The honest answer depends on which product you’re comparing. Here’s the breakdown.
Wall-mounted boiling water (3Lā25L)
The Kwikboil 3L starts at $964. The Zip Econoboil 3L typically retails between $999 and $1,099 depending on the supplier. Same price bracket ā but the Kwikboil has a copper tank, a 2.4kW heating element (vs Zip’s 1.5kW), and built-in dry-fire protection.
Underbench boiling + chilled (Supatap BC vs Billi Quadra / Zip HydroTap)
The Supatap BC Series starts at $3,910. A comparable Billi Quadra retails from around $5,090. A Zip HydroTap G5 Classic Plus retails around $5,720. That’s a saving of $1,000 to $1,800+ for a like-for-like underbench installation.
Underbench boiling + chilled + ambient (Supatap BCF)
The Supatap BCF Series starts at $4,349 ā still well below Billi and Zip’s equivalent boiling+chilled models, with the added ambient filtered water output included.
Australian Made
Every Supakwik unit is designed and manufactured in Australia ā same as Zip, same as Billi. The difference isn’t where it’s built. It’s how it’s built and how you’re supported when something needs attention.
A Direct Line to the Factory Floor
When you have an issue with a Zip or Billi, you call a support line. When you call us, we put you straight through to Supakwik ā the team who built your unit. They know every bolt, every wire, every sensor, because they put them there. No call centres. No third-party repairers. No ticket queues.
Motion Sensor Power Saving ā Standard
Every Supatap comes with patented motion-sensor technology. The unit only heats when it detects someone nearby ā no constant energy draw when the kitchen sits empty over weekends or after hours. It’s a Supakwik patent, not an add-on.
Backed by Warranty
Every Kwikboil and Supatap comes with a 2-year parts warranty and 1-year parts and labour warranty from Supakwik. If something needs servicing, you call us, we put you through to the factory. That’s the entire process.
Dry-Fire Protection ā A Feature That Really Matters
On a Zip Econoboil (and many other competitor units), you have to fill the tank with water before turning the power on. If the power is connected first, the element runs dry and burns out ā at best you’re up for a replacement element, at worst the whole unit.
Every Kwikboil has a built-in level sensor. It won’t power up the element until the tank is full. You can connect power before water and the unit just waits. No risk, no callout fee, no expensive lesson.
In a typical office kitchen this is a small thing. In the portable building industry ā site offices, mining camps, remote work facilities ā it’s a serious thing. These buildings get fitted out in a warehouse, transported to site, and connected to water and power in whatever order happens to be convenient. With a Zip Econoboil, that’s an expensive gamble. With a Kwikboil, it’s a non-issue.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between the SA and SC series?
Same unit, different finish. The SA Series has a white powder-coated case ā clean and practical for most kitchens. The SC Series has a stainless steel cover, which suits commercial kitchens, corporate environments, or anywhere that wants a more premium appearance. Both use the same copper tank, 2.4kW element, and Australian-made internals.
Do you offer installation?
We don’t supply installation directly, but the Kwikboil and Supatap ranges are straightforward to install ā any licensed plumber or electrician can do it. The Kwikboil requires a standard GPO and a cold water connection. The Supatap underbench units are similarly straightforward, though the BC and BCF series require a double GPO. Contact us if you need installation guidance or a recommendation.
How long does delivery take?
We ship Australia-wide. Delivery timeframes vary by location ā metropolitan areas typically receive orders within 3ā7 business days. Remote or regional locations may take longer. Get in touch for an estimate to your address.
Can I get a quote for multiple units?
Yes. If you’re fitting out multiple rooms, a building, or a fleet of portable buildings, contact us with your requirements and we’ll put together a quote. Volume pricing is available.
Can I see one in person before buying?
We’re an online retailer, so we don’t have a showroom. That said, Supakwik units are installed in workplaces across Australia ā reach out and we may be able to connect you with a local reference site, or answer any questions about the build quality before you commit.
Is the Kwikboil compatible with my existing plumbing?
The Kwikboil SA and SC series connect to a standard cold water supply ā no special fittings or pressure limiting valve required (unlike some competing units). They run on a single standard GPO (240V, 10A). If you’re unsure about your setup, get in touch and we’ll help you work it out.
